In an elevator on its way to the ground floor somewhere in Manila.
The elevator door opens and a man standing outside asks, “Bababa ba?” (Filipino’s way of asking “Are you going down?”) The elevator girl replied, “Bababa.” (Filipino’s way of saying “We’re going down.) so the man comes in.
The door opens again on the next floor and a woman standing outside asks, “Bababa ba?” The elevator girl again replied, “Bababa.” so the woman comes in.
This repeated a few more times on the way down. A foreigner in the elevator at the time, was observing this curiously. He then pulled his wife close and said in a stage whispers, “They talk like sheep.”
